Montreal, Canada, August 3, 2012 — Advantech Wireless, a Canadian-based manufacturer of broadcast-quality Satellite, RF Equipment and Microwave Systems is showcasing the newest generation, lowest cost, most fully functional and software upgradeable VSAT solution in the market, the Discovery Hub and will present details of its Broadcast Solutions at Broadcast and Cable 2012 Show.
Advantech Wireless is a world leader in satellite and terrestrial communications, delivering equipment for hundreds of satellite and thousands of ground systems for over 20 years.
Advantech Wireless’ DVB modulator and demodulator products with built-in multiplexing and encryption options, vehicle-mounted and fly-away antenna systems with fast single-button auto-pointing, are great for delivering content from the field (whether that is a local sports event or distant battleground).
For SNG needs, Advantech Wireless manufactures mobile antennas of the highest quality. These roof mounted antennas include the drive control, positioning hardware and amplifier into the antenna enclosure, making the system a robust, standalone sub-assembly ready to install onto almost any vehicle. The system is simple to install, set up and use and will reliably, accurately and automatically locate and lock on to the designated traffic satellite rapidly, with the push of a button. This automated acquisition is provided by the Advantech Wireless IPOINT Auto Acquisition Controller which uses industry standard position transducers and a sophisticated pattern recognition algorithm to confirm and refine its heading information using visible satellites. The controller is mounted on the antenna structure with a separate control panel using integral power supply and in a rack mount unit for mounting within the equipment area.
The antenna is powered with an Advantech Wireless GaN-based Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) or BUC. These GaN-based devices offer unmatched performance, high reliability and low OPEX. Within the same footprint, GaN produces twice the RF power and reduces energy consumption by up to 50%.
For broadcast backhaul needs, Advantech Wireless is a world leading manufacturer of carrier-class Microwave radios. Since the acquisition of Allgon Microwave, Advantech Wireless has expanded the radio line to include the Transcend 800 series of products. Regardless of the choice of physical interface, the radio can carry broadcasting signals via DVB-ASI, STM-1, DS3 or plain IP.
Advantech Wireless Discovery Series VSAT Satellite Solutions will broadcast video, voice and data around the globe and simultaneously to thousands of remote sites. Advantech Wireless products deliver: Simplicity, Interoperability, Efficiency, Reliability, Open standards compliance and Value for money!
“Regardless of the choice of media – Video, Voice or Data, regardless of the protocol or mode of transport – Land, Wireless or Satellite, Advantech Wireless is the only company who can provide complete and mature solutions, with advanced capabilities for broadcast needs”, states Paul Sandoval, VP Sales Americas at Advantech Wireless.
