Features Overview Specifications Related Resources

Features

• Advanced Radio and Digital Signal Processing Up tp 400 Mbps over-the-air throughput for single IDU configurations and 800 Mbps over-the-air throughput for coupled IDU configurations.
• True Adaptive Coding and Modulation (True ACMTM) Transcend 800 automatically adjusts coding and modulation rates, without any payload error, to changing environmental conditions. This allows for sustained availability at overall higher capacity.
• High speed IP traffic – Gigabit Routing and Switching Transcend 800 includes a full featured built-in Layer 2 Gigabit Switch and Layer 3 Gigabit router. High Speed IP traffic is scalable up to Gbps with low latency.
• Broadcast capabilities built-in Transcend 800 carries MPEG data carried directly from
broadcast equipment through integrated DVB-ASI interfaces over the microwave link. The DVB-ASI interfaces support standard definition, high definition, and Digital 3D broadcast applications
• Add and Drop feature for TDM traffic Transcend 800 offers powerful and complete Add/Drop
Multiplex solution for TDM traffic
• Nodal Traffic Grooming Flexible support of IP, TDM, DVB-ASI, and mixed traffic with
prioritization via quality and cost of service.

 Overview

The Transcend™ 800 high capacity microwave radio with integrated gigabit router and switch, support of STM-1/OC-3, 2xSTM-1/OC-3 , up to 84E1/T1s, and optional ASI interfaces to  facilitate high speed MPEG TS video transfer. The carrier grade Transcend 800 microwave radio is the high capacity, high performance, and flexible solution to demanding transmission and telecom applications including backhauling 3G/4G traffic and Wireless Broadband Networks such as WiMAX, Metro WiFi, UMTS TDD, and private communication networks carrying data, voice, and video traffic.

Transcend 800, Advantech’s second generation microwave system offering true Adaptive Coding and Modulation, dynamically and seamlessly adapts coding and modulation to path propagation conditions. The result is the Lowest Total Cost of Ownership; higher availability, smaller antennas, and longer hop distances.

The AMR Transcend 800 can be flexibly configured as a narrow band or wide band PDH, SDH, IP, or MPEG transport stream radio. Modulation and data throughput are programmable from QPSK to 256 QAM or up to 400 Mbps for single IDU and up to 800 Mbps for aggregated traffic for a coupled IDU configuration.

Operators can provision traffic capacity based on priority or dynamically/adaptively change it to provide the best throughput through the system. Provisioning can be based on CoS priorities or QoS for VoIP traffic and is fully compatible with triple play combining voice (Abis or VoIP) with GPRS and video services.

Traffic grooming, cross connection, expansion, and redundancy is supported through the integration of a front plane high speed serial interface. This ring network’s serial connection offers high bandwidth, forward compatibility with Advantech’s latest radios and flexibility in radio and rack layout.

Transcend 800 includes a secure Embedded Element Manager (Web interface, Telnet, and SSH) built upon open standards. Allgon Microwave’s optional NetWay Manager™ is a complete network management suite compatible with all Allgon Microwave’s point-to-point microwave radios.
