A-SAT™ stands for Adaptive Satellite Access Technology. A-SAT™ is beyond dual mode RCS/TDMA-SCPC, developed by Advantech Wireless several years ago and well ahead of the competition. A-SAT™ monitors channel utilization and switches seamlessly the satellite access method and mod code for the return channel to dynamically maximize the space segment utilization efficiency.
Operators often face the dilemma of choosing between SCPC or TDMA platforms depending on their customer’s applications and traffic patterns, and more recently face the problem of limited throughput VSATs, as their customer application now demand more and more bandwidth on the return channel.
Recognizing the dynamic nature of traffic and unpredictable traffic bursts, A-SAT™ technology developed by Advantech Wireless resolves this dilemma by combining both technologies in the same platform which adapts to the traffic needs, seamlessly to the user, and delivering the best navigation experience with the lowest occupied transponder bandwidth.
