Our Corporate Management Team

David Gelerman
Founder, Chief Executive Officer & Chairman of the Board of Directors

Mr. David Gelerman founded Advantech Wireless in 1988, serving initially as President and, since March 2006, as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to founding the Company, Mr. Gelerman has held various positions at Nortel Networks, including Manager of the Transmission Networks Division, where he managed and supervised teams which developed several key Point-to-Point (P2P) radio systems. Mr. Gelerman holds a Master’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE), specializing in Wireless Communications and Broadcasting.

Cristi Damian
Vice-President, Business Development

Mr. Damian joined Advantech Wireless in 1995 where he held various leading positions in Operations, Manufacturing, Sales, Engineering and Customer Support. Prior to Advantech Wireless, he acquired experience as a hardware engineer in various high-tech companies. Mr. Damian holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Concordia University.

John Landovskis
Vice President, PLM & Business Development, VSAT & Modem Products

Mr. John Landovskis has worked in the space industry for over 30 years. He has been involved in TDMA product development since 1981 first with Spar Aerospace and then with Comtel and ComStream. Mr. Landovskis was instrumental with his team in the development of the DVB-RCS standard. He assumed increasingly more senior positions and was the CTO for EMS Satellite Networks when it was acquired by Advantech Wireless.  At Advantech Wireless Mr. Landovskis has led the development of numerous innovative products.  He is Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec and holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Post Graduate courses in Management, from McGill University in Montreal.

Robert Petrucelli
Vice President, USA Sales

Mr. Petrucelli joined the Company in 2014 as VP, Sales USA. Mr. Petrucelli has over 25 years of experience as founder and leader for a Company representing manufacturer’s hardware and software products. He has a broad background in Sales and Management in the Commercial and Government Telecommunications Industry. Mr. Petrucelli holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from SUNY Brockport, N.Y.

James Rigsby
Vice President, USA Sales of Microwave Radio Products

Mr. Rigsby joined the Company in 2014, as VP, Sales USA of Microwave Radio Products. Mr. Rigsby has over 25 years of experience in Global Sales, Product Marketing, General Management and Engineering. He has worked in Senior Leadership positions for companies such as Aviat Networks, Harris Corp., Motorola and NEC America. He has a very broad background in Microwave & Satellite technology as well as the Satellite Teleport market. Mr. Rigsby holds a degree in Marketing with a Telecom Major from DePaul University as well as certificates in Wireless Communications System Design and Communication System Engineering.

Manuel Riaño
Vice President, Latin America Sales

Mr. Riaño joined the Company in 2014 as VP, Sales Latin America.  Mr. Riaño has over 15 years of experience in the Telecommunications Industry in both the Government and Private sector and with both TELCOS and Technology Vendors. He has held many senior leadership roles for Companies and Institutions such as the Colombian Ministry of ITC, Motorola Solutions and Radwin. Mr. Riaño holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree and a Certificate in Management of Telecommunications Companies from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia.

Georges Kechichian
Vice President, Engineering

Mr. Georges Kechichian joined the Company in 2014 as VP, Engineering. Mr. Kechichian has over 25 years of experience in systems R & D concentrated in telecommunications and optical networking, including 15 years in Engineering Management.  Mr. Kechichian has worked in Senior Leadership positions for companies such as Metco, IRphotonics, Aethera Networks and Positron. Mr. Kechichian holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Laval University.

Jim Thomson
Vice President Engineering, VSAT, Modem, T800

Mr. Thomson joined the Company in 2001 as Senior Design Engineer, Modems quickly moving to Vice President Engineering, New Products until his current role as Vice President Engineering, VSAT, MODEM, T800 Products.  Prior to Advantech Wireless, Mr. Thomson acquired a wealth of knowledge throughout his 20 years of service with Nortel Networks. He held many senior management positions, ending his tenor as Senior Manager, Manufacturing Networks. Mr. Thomson holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering.

Giuseppe (Joe) D’Onofrio, CPA, CA
Vice President of Finance

Mr. D’Onofrio joined the Company in November, 2013. Mr. D’Onofrio, has held Senior Financial Positions  at various industries in Canada and the US, where he has managed and directed financial and operational activities for more than 25 years.  Mr. D’Onofrio holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Diplomacy in Accounting from Concordia University.

Mark Lambert
Managing Director-Europe & Middle East/ Africa (EMEA)

Mr. Lambert joined the company in 2002 and was appointed Managing Director of Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2005. Mr. Lambert is responsible for our European operations as well as for directing our worldwide marketing campaigns. Mr. Lambert holds a Masters Degree of Science in Electrical Engineering and MBA degrees.

Stella Gelerman
Vice-President, Administration and Corporate Affairs

Mrs. Gelerman joined the Company in 1995 and is responsible for developing and directing the Human Resources strategies, the HR activities, including career development and the overall well being of the employees. Mrs. Gelerman has been instrumental in bringing together outstanding teams throughout the Company. Previous to her work at Advantech Wireless, Mrs. Gelerman has owned and successfully operated a retail business. Mrs. Gelerman holds a Master’s degree in Economics.

Alain Laplante
Corporate & General Counsel

Mr. Laplante  joined the Company as Corporate and General Counsel in 2006. Prior to joining Advantech Wireless, Mr. Laplante held the positions of Director, Commercial Services with Rolls-Royce and General Counsel of Transat A.T. Mr. Laplante graduated from University of Montreal where he was granted a License in Law (L.L.L.). He holds a degree in Public Relations from the management department of McGill University.

The WTA has established the Technology Discount Centre to give its members cost effective access to leading edge satellite communication solutions. Since 1985, the World Teleport Association has focused on improving the business of satellite communications from the ground up. At the core of its membership are the world’s most innovative operators of teleports, from independents to multinationals, niche service providers to global carriers. WTA is dedicated to advocating for the interests of teleport operators in the global telecommunications market and promoting excellence in teleport business practice, technology and operations. The Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) Project is an industry-led consortium of around 230 broadcasters, manufacturers, network operators, software developers, regulatory bodies and others in over 35 countries committed to designing open interoperable standards for the global delivery of digital media and broadcast services.

In 1991, broadcasters, equipment manufacturers and regulatory bodies in Europe came together to discuss the formation of a group that would oversee the introduction of digital TV. A consensus-based framework and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were drawn up and signed in 1993, setting out the basis on which competitors in the marketplace would come together in a spirit of trust and mutual respect.
